    Nigeria Records 130 New COVID-19 Cases

    COVID-19 cases in Nigeria have been steadily declining overall since late February till date.

    On March 19, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC reported 130 new cases of the novel coronavirus COVID-19 in 12 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    The new COVID-19 infections reported Friday by the nation push its pandemic cases tally to 161,539.

    Health officials in the country also confirmed zero more people have died after testing positive for COVID-19.

    Since the virus was first detected, it has claimed 2,027 lives in Nigeria.

    However, more than 147,000 people have recovered in the country after falling ilill.

    According to the report 691 more patients have recovered from the disease, bringing the total number of recoveries to 147,581.

    Active cases in Nigeria now stand at 11,931 down from the previous day when it was at 12,492.

    "Our discharges today include 242 community recoveries in Lagos State, 193 in FCT and 103 in Kwara State managed in line with guidelines." NCDC noted.

    The report, citing NCDC, said that 46 out of the new infections were reported in Lagos, 19 in Ogun, 18 in Kwara, 12 in FCT and 10 in Kaduna state.

    Why Ekiti had 6 cases, Abia reported 5, Edo, Sokoto and Osun confirmed 3 cases each. Niger and Oyo confirmed 2 cases each and Akwa Ibom with 1 case.
