    COVID-19: 71 New Infections Reported in Nigeria

    With the new update, the tally of coronavirus infections in Nigeria rose to 163,652 on Friday night, including 71 new cases of COVID-19 in country in 9 states and the Federal Capital Territory, aaccording to Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

    Sixty-eight COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from hospitals across  the nation. The total COVID-19 recoveries in Nigeria is now 154,073.

    The active cases in the country slightly increased by two, rose from 7,518 on April 8, to 7,520.

    NCDC added that COVID-19 fatalities stands at 2,059 as one more coronavirus related death were recorded.

    According to the breakdown by NCDC via it official Twitter handle, Lagos topped the list with 24 infections, followed by Yobe with 13, Rivers with 9 and Akwa Ibom, FCT and Kano reported 6 cases each.

    While Osun had 3 cases, Delta reported 2,  Jigawa and Plateau confirmed 1 case each.
