    COVID-19: Nigeria 83 New Infections

    Nigeria Thursday reported 83 new COVID-19 cases over a 24-hour as the West Africa's most populous country pushes ahead with its vaccination campaign.

    The latest update takes Nigeria’s tally of COVID-19 infections to 163,581. As the active cases dropped  further to 7,518.

    Since the start of April till date, Nigeria has reported about 690 cases, with Lagos accounting for 220 cases.

    No fatality recorded in the past 24 hours, the total death toll in the country remained 2,058 since the pandemic began.

    However, the numbers of recoveries currently stands at 154,005, with additional 217 patients discharged across the country.

    According to the data put out by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC, the breakdown of the new cases by state as follows Lagos-22, Rivers-18, Nasarawa-9 Cross River-8, Ondo-6, Delta-5, Akwa Ibom-4, Bauchi-3, Zamfara-2, Kaduna-2, Ebonyi-1, Sokoto-1, Ekiti-1 and Kano-1.

    NCDC noted that the cumulative confirmed cases reported on 7th April, 2021 did not include data for 6th April, 2021.
    And 38 discharged cases previously recorded in Bauchi State was erroneously reported.
