Nigeria registered 45 fresh COVID-19 cases in 7 states and the Federal Capital Territory, pushing the overall caseload to 164,633, according to the data provided by the Nigeria Centre  for Disease Control NCDC Friday night.

No additional COVID-19 related death recorded on Friday, the nationwide toll still stands at 2,061.

While total recoveries has increased to 154,643, the number of people who have recovered from the disease and discharged from hospitals increased by 65 in the last 24 hours.

With fresh COVID-19 cases, the country's active caseload stands at 7,929 

Today's report includes 25 community recoveries in Akwa Ibom and 18 in Kaduna State managed in line with guidelines, the health agency noted.

As the number of COVID-19 cases in the country trend downward, the health agency stated that, Lagos lead chart with 26 infections, Rivers had 10, Delta reported 3, Kano had 2, Akwa Ibom, FCT, Kaduna and Nasarawa reported 1 case each.
