    NCDC Announces 50 New COVID-19 Infections in 6 States

    At over 160,000, Nigeria’s infection tally is the sixth highest in Africa, having South Africa in the first place, followed by Morocco, Tunisia, Ethiopia and Egypt respectively. The country’s infections tally is 74th globally, according to Johns Hopkins University.

    Nigeria on Saturday reported 50 fresh COVID-19 cases in 6 states. The cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in nation now 163,113.

    At least 18 patients recovered were discharged from various treatment facilities during the day, taking the total count of recoveries to 151,853.

    Active cases have continue to drop below the 10,000-mark recently  and now stand at 9,202

    No death linked to the disease were confirmed on Saturday.  The data showed that the death toll remained 2,058 . The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC disclosed this via its official Twitter handle.

    According to the data put out by the health authorities, the breakdown of the new cases by state as follows Lagos-27, Plateau-11, Bayelsa-7, Gombe-3, Nasarawa-1 and Ekiti-1.
