With the latest addition, the country's tally has soared to 162,997,
according to Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC.
Nigeria added one more COVID-19 related deaths in last 24 hours.
The total registered death toll due to COVID-19 has now reached 2,058, the
tenth highest tally in Africa.
Also, data obtained from the health authority’s Twitter handle
shows that 176 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours. The total number of
recoveries and discharges now 151,708.
The breakdown released by the country’s health authorities shows
that, the new infections were reported from 11 states and Federal Capital
Territory.
Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in country recorded
the highest number of cases with 33 taking the total number of infections in states
to 57,713.
While FTC, Cross River, Rivers, Kaduna and Edo recorded 20, 11, 11, 7, and 6 cases respectively.
Others include Ondo-6, Nasarawa-3, Ogun-3, Kano-2, Bauchi-2 and
Osun-2.
Today’s death is from a backlog of data from Rivers State.
