    Nigeria Reports 65 New COVID-19 Cases

    Health officials in Nigeria reports 65 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday. 120 previously reported on Tuesday are higher than today’s report, as the active number of cases increases to 7,986.

    Again, there were no fatalities recorded from COVID-19 in Nigeria on Wednesday just as it was a day earlier.

    Wednesday makes it the ninth day since April 12 that nobody died from highly contagious diseases within a 24-hour cycle.

    According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), additional 35 patients have been discharged from medical facilities after testing negative to the disease.

    NCDC's COVID-19 online dashboard update shows the new cases were reported in 11 states.

    41 new case was reported in Lagos, Kaduna had 6, Kano, Rivers and Plateau 3 cases each.

    Akwa Ibom, Imo and Oyo reported 2 cases of the virus each, while Edo, Bauchi and Osun confirmed 1 case each.

    Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 164,488 COVID-19 cases in Nigeria. Of those, 154,441 cases have recovered and 2,061 people have died due to the novel coronavirus.
