The country has registered 166,191 cases of the virus since
the pandemic began, while the official death toll stands at 2,071, the Nigeria
Centre for Disease Control said on
Thursday night while giving the daily report on its official Twitter handle.
The total cumulative recoveries stand at 156,535 today including 6 recoveries and discharges in the last 24 hours. While the active cases in the country now stands at 7,585.
According to the breakdown released by the health agency,
Lagos, the epicentre of the disease in the country, led with 27 new infections,
followed by Rivers with 14, Kaduna with
2 and Jigawa and Ekiti reported 1 case each.
NCDC added that today's report includes 0 cases from Plateau, Nasarawa, Kano, Sokoto, FCT, Osun, Ondo, Ogun and Oyo States.
