    Nigeria Records 1 More Death, 47 New COVID-19 Cases

    Nigeria continues to reports a steep drop in the number of new COVID-19 infections with 47 new cases confirmed over the past 24 hours.

    The new cases reported today, shows no increase  or decrease from the 47 confirmed one day earlier.

    One more virus-related death were confirmed in Nigeria today.

    Meanwhile, 165,559 Nigeria residents were reported to have recovered from COVID-19, which is about 94.5 per cent of known cases. Resolved cases increased by 16 on Wednesday.

    The number of active, lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria continues to trend downward below 10,000 mark. Ccurrently, Nigeria’s active caseload is now 7,119 up from 7,092 a days ago.

    According to data released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC, COVID-19 infections tally in Nigeria reached 165,559 on Wednesday, while the death toll from the virus stands at 2,066 and the number of recovered COVID-19 patients is now 156,374 in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    The public health authorities in a tweet said the new cases were reported in 4 states.

    The breakdown as follows Lagos and Rivers recorded the highest number of COVID-19 infections with 28 and 14 cases respectively. While Akwa-Ibom and Ekiti reported 1 case each.
