Saturday’s case count is lower than Friday’s case count
which saw 63 new infections.
According to Saturday’s report, 15 cases were recorded in Lagos, 5 in Gombe, 4 in Akwa-Ibom, 3 in FCT and 2 cases each in Kaduna and Kwara state.
The report includes 0 cases from Bauchi, Ekiti, Nasarawa, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Oyo, Plateau, and Sokoto States, NCDC added.
The death toll in the nation still remained 2,071, as no
death related to the disease were
recorded.
Meanwhile, 156,557 Nigeria residents were reported to have
recovered from COVID-19, which is about 94.15 per cent of known cases. Resolved
cases increased by 11 in the past 24 hours.
There were more new cases than resolved cases on Saturday.
Active cases in Nigeria now stand at 7,657 — up from the previous day when it was at 7,637.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, Nigeria has recorded 166,285
lab-confirmed cases of the disease. That number includes 156,557 recoveries and
2,071 deaths.
