Nigeria's COVID-19 case count is continuing to move in the right direction.

On Sunday, the nation reported 30 new COVID-19 cases in 3 states.

The new cases logged Sunday represent a small decrease over the 31 added a day earlier.

The nation also reported zero new death linked to the disease in past 24 hours.

While the case count has continued to creep down throughout the week, it is getting closer to dropping below 30.

Sunday's case count includes 26 cases in Lagos, 3 in Rivers and 1 in Kwara.

Meanwhile, at least 1 COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from hospital across the nation in the past 24 hours.

Active cases in Nigeria now stand at 7,686 — up from the previous day when it was at  7,657.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Nigeria has recorded 166,315 lab-confirmed cases of the disease. That number includes 156,558 recoveries and 2,071 deaths in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, according to the data released by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC via its official Twitter handle.
