    48 New COVID-19 Cases, 63 Recoveries Reported Friday

    Today, June 4, Nigeria recorded 48 new cases of COVID-19 and 63 recoveries in 8 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    No new coronavirus-related deaths were reported in past 24 hours.

    According to the data from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC, 16 of Friday's new cases are recorded in Lagos, 16 cases are also in Yobe, 8 cases in Kano, 3 cases in Gombe.

    While Akwa Ibom, Delta, FCT, Kaduna and River Reported 1 case each.

    NCDC stated that Ekiti, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Oyo and Sokoto reported no cases in the past 24 hours.

    Since the beginning of the pandemic in Nigeria on February 27 last year, there have been 166,730 positive COVID-19 cases and 2,117 deaths linked to the virus. Of which 162,584 cases are now considered resolved.

    As of Friday, Nigeria has 2,029 active cases of COVID-19, down from the previous day when it was at  2,044.
