    Nigeria: 24 New COVID-19 Cases Reported

    Nigeria added 24 cases to the number of COVID-19 infections recorded in the nation as no patient lost their lives to coronavirus in the past 24 hours.

    Saturday makes  it the seventh consecutive day since the nation reported no COVID-19 deaths. The last time COVID-19 related deaths reported was on June 3rd when 18 people lost their lives to the disease.

    Meanwhile, 17 COVID-19 patients who have recovered from the disease have been discharged from hospitals across the nation.

    The number of active COVID-19 cases in the nation slightly up by 7,  now stand at 1,504.

    According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC, till date, 167,051 cases have been confirmed, 163,430 cases have been discharged and 2,117 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    Breakdown of the data released by the health agency via it website shows that the new cases were reported in 4 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    Lagos took the lead with 12 cases, while Gombe, FCT, Kaduna and Rivers reported 6, 2, 2 and 2 cases respectively.
