Nigeria health officials logged 45 new COVID-19 infections
in 6 states, Thursday’s case count is a slight decrease from the previous day.
According to the report released by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC no new death
from the disease had been recorded in the past 24 hours. There have now been 2,117
total deaths in Nigeria since tracking began in March 2020.
The total cumulative recoveries stand at 163,413 today with 82
patients recovered and discharged in the last 24 hours.
As of Thursday, Nigeria has 1,497 active cases of COVID-19,
down from the previous day when it was at 1,534.
Till date, 167,027 cases have been confirmed in 36 states
and the Federal Capital Territory, NCDC said via its official website.
The breakdown released by health officials shows that, 23 of
Thursday's cases are located in Ondo, 15 of the cases are Lagos, while Gombe, Kaduna
and Rivers reported 2 cases each, Nasarawa reported 1 case.
A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC),
activated at Level 2, continues to coordinate the national response activities,
NCDC added.
