Saudi Minister of Tourism and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Fund for Development Ahmed Aqeel Al-Khateeb told Premier Hichem Mechichi on Monday his country wants to invest in Tunisia, notably in tourism.

The visiting official also said there is need to stimulate tourism between the two countries so as to address the impact of the pandemic.

It is important to foster exchange between the two countries' professionals in a bid to develop joint programmes and promote tourism products in Tunisia and Saudi Arabia, Al-Khateeb further said.

The Prime Minister hailed the key role played by Saudi Arabia in the World Tourism Organisation amid the COVID-19 outbreak as a Global Tourism Crisis Committee and G20 member.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Tourism Habib Ammar.
