    COVID-19: Another 132 Nigeria Residents Tests Positive in 5 States, FCT

    Another one hundred and thirty-two people have tested positive to coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

    Nigeria's health officials reported no new coronavirus-related death Friday and 132 new infections recorded in 5 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    The day also saw 4 people getting discharged after recovered from the disease as the new cases continuing to outnumber the recoveries.

    Active cases in Nigeria further increased to 2,414 from 2,286 its the previous day.

    Out of the 132 new cases, 109 were from Lagos, 16 in Rivers, 3 in Gombe. While Kastina, FCT and Nasarawa reported 2, 1 and 1 respectively.

    Today’s report includes data from Lagos State for 15th July, 2021.

    And four states, Plateau, Sokoto, Kano and Kaduna reported zero cases.

    According to the new data from Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC, the COVID-19 infections tally in Nigeria reached 169,206.

    While the death toll from the virus stands at 2,126 and the number of recovered COVID-19 patients is now 164,666 in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory as the country is currently battling with the third wave of the pandemic.
