The country’s cumulative caseload increased to 169,678, and
the death toll stands at 2,128 since the beginning of the pandemic.
The health officials also stated that the nation’s total
recoveries were raised to 164,710 after 11 people were discharged from
hospitals.
Meanwhile, active cases in the country continue to grow by the day, increased by 124, now
stand at 2,830 from 2,706 its was the previous day.
NCDC noted that today's cases were reported from seven states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The breakdown of the new cases shows that Lagos state
recorded 134 infections, the highest number of confirmed cases for the day,
followed by Ondo with 3 cases, Cross River, FCT and Kwara reported 2 cases each.
While Ogun, Oyo and Rivers recorded 1 case each.
Among all the states, zero cases were reported from Ekiti, Kano, Nasarawa, Plateau and Sokoto.
Within the period of one week, Nigeria has conducted 39,137
COVID-19 tests, higher than the 31,023 tested the previous week. Cumulatively,
a total of 2,401,894 samples have been tested since the beginning of the
pandemic.
