Active cases in Nigeria further increased to 2,531 from 2,414 its the previous day. 117 active cases were recorded in 24 hours period.
No COVID-19 related death were recorded in the past 24
hours period, pushing the caseload to 169,329
and death toll to 2,126, the health department said.
As many as 6 patients recovered, and were discharged from
hospitals across the nation today, taking the total recoveries to 164,672.
Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC made this known via its official Facebook page during its daily COVID-19 update.
Lagos remained a major COVID-19 hotspot with 70 fresh infections
out of the 123 new cases on Saturday.
While Akwa Ibom had 18, Ogun reported 10, Oyo and Rivers 8 cases
each. Ekiti and FCT had 4 cases each and Bayelsa reported 1 case.
Today’s report includes data from Akwa Ibom for 16th July
(10 cases) and 17th July (8 cases).
Four states with zero cases reported: Ekiti, Kano, Ondo,
Sokoto.
