Nigeria on Friday confirmed 186 new COVID-19 infections in 3 states as case counts continue to hover above and below the 100 mark.

The new figures brought the overall caseload in the West African nation to 168,442.

According to Friday’s report, 175 cases were recorded in Lagos, 8 in Rivers and 3 in Gombe.

The health officials noted that today's report includes 0 cases reported from FCT, Nasarawa, Plateau, Kano, Kaduna and Sokoto States

The death toll in the nation stands at 2,122 as no death were recorded in the last 24 hours, according to Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC via its official Facebook page.

Meanwhile, 164,423 Nigeria residents were reported to have recovered from COVID-19, which is about 97.6 per cent of known cases. Resolved cases increased by 8 from the previous day.

Active cases moved up from 1,719 it was the previous day to 1,897.
