Nigeria reported a slight uptick in the number of COVID-19 cases today but the nationwide positivity rate remains at a low lately.

Nigeria on Wednesday reported 110 fresh COVID-19 cases in 6 states and the Federal Capital Territory,  as the country's cumulative total of coronavirus cases soared to 168,110.

The country added no COVID-19 death this past 24 hours, for a total of 2,122.

However, 3 people got recovered and discharged in past 24 hours, pushing the total number of patients who recovered from the disease to 164,408.

Active cases have further increased to 1,580 from 1,473 it was the previous day.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC made this known via its official Facebook page late Wednesday.

Of the 110 new cases, 88 were recorded in Lagos, 12 cases in Rivers, 4 in Akwa Ibo and Jigawa and Ogun reported 2 cases each, also FCT and Kano had 1 case each.

Today's report includes data reported for Kaduna for the 6th of July.  Zero cases from Ekiti, Imo, Kaduna and Sokoto States.
