    Nigeria: Lagos Records 132 Out of 206 COVID-19 Cases on Tuesday

    With the latest update by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, the tally of infected people in the country rose to 169,884, with infection rates still concentrated in Nigeria’s largest city and hardest hit state – Lagos.

    Active cases in the country continue to grow, rose from 2,830 it was the previous day to 3,013

    Nigeria on Tuesday reported 206 new cases of coronavirus infections in 9 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    NCDC also announced the discharge of 23 patients from hospitals across the country after tested negative to coronavirus.

    Meanwhile, no fatality was confirmed by the health officials today, with which the country's COVID-19 death toll stands at 2,128, while 164,733 people have recovered from the disease since the pandemic outbreak.

    Data obtained from the NCDC's Facebook page shows that within a 24 hour period, a major financial centre for all of Africa and the economic hub of Nigeria, Lagos had 132 new infections, while Akwa-Ibom recorded 56 new coronavirus infections. Ekiti and Delta reported 5 and 3 cases respectively.

    Rivers, Enugu, Jigawa and Katsina reported 2 cases each. Gombe and FCT reported 1 case each.

    Today's report includes 0 cases from Plateau, Sokoto, Kano, Oyo, Ondo, Osun, Nasarawa and Kaduna States.
