    Nigeria Logs 75 New COVID-19 Cases Wednesday

    Nigeria has logged 75 new coronavirus cases, health authorities said late Wednesday, up from 11 infections recorded a day earlier.

    According to Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) no death from the virus were reported over the past day, down from one reported a day before.

    At least 259 people were discharged from hospitals after recovered from the disease caused by coronavirus.

    As of Wednesday active cases in country dropped to 1,254 from 1,438 it was the previous day.

    With the latest updates the total number of cases in the country rose to 167,618, including 2,120 fatalities and 164,244 recoveries.

    The most affected regional state is Lagos with a total of 456 deaths and 59,607 infections, followed by the Federal Capital Territory with 166 deaths and 19,891 infections, and Kaduna in third position with 65 deaths and 9,121 infections according to the NCDC.

    The latest data released by the health authorities shows that, 41 of the new cases were recorded in Lagos, 15 in Gombe, 4 cases each in FCT and Rivers, 3 in Kaduna and 2 in Ekiti state.

    NCDC also noted that today’s report includes data from Lagos State for 29th (21 cases) & 30th (26 cases) June, 2021

    Also 6 states, Imo, Kano, Oyo, Ogun, Plateau, and Sokoto reported zero case on Wednesday.
