The new figure has indicated a slightly decrease from the 590 recorded a day earlier.
The newly recorded infections raised the country’s tally of COVID-19 cases to 173,908 since the first case relating to the disease was announced on February 27, 2020.
The public health officials stated that the new cases were registered
in 17 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The top five states which registered maximum cases are Lagos
with 211 cases, followed by Akwa-Ibom with 80 cases, Kwara with 73 cases and Osun
with 29 cases.
Other states are Oyo-17, Rivers-17, Cross River-15, Edo-14, Anambra-9,
Ogun-8, Ekiti-6, Bayelsa-4, FCT-4, Plateau-4, Bauchi-2, Nasarawa-2, Kaduna-1 and
Jigawa-1.
Today's report includes, cases reported for Kwara state for
30th July (58) and 31st July (15).
Cases reported for Edo state are for 30th (12) and (2) for 31st July 2021) .
And 0 cases reported from Sokoto and Kano States
Nigeria also recorded 16 recoveries. The numbers bring the
cumulative recoveries to 164,994 while
the number of deaths now stands at 2,149 since the nation reported its first
coronavirus-related death on Monday, 23rd of March 2020.
Nigeria's active caseload now stands at 6,755 after 481 more
were recorded on Saturday.
