The nationwide infections rose to 169,074, according to the
data released by the Nigeria Centre for
Disease Control NCDC late Thursday.
Thursday’s case count is higher than Wednesday’s, which saw 48
new infections reported
The country's COVID-19 recovery rate has been dropping
lately, with the recent update, the nation’s reported 10 COVID-19 recovery on Thursday,
taking the country's cumulative COVID-19 recoveries to 164,662.
Active cases in Nigeria further increased to 2,286 from 2,138
its the previous day.
However, the nation registered 1 new COVID-19 death in the same period of 24 hours. The total COVID-19 deaths toll now stands at 2,126.
NCDC data showed that the new cases were reported across 7 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
A breakdown of cases by state as follows, Lagos-119, Akwa
Ibom-19, Rivers-11, Ogun-5, Ekiti-2, FCT-1, Delta-1 and Kwara-1.
According to NCDC, today’s report includes, data from Lagos
State for 14th July, 2021, also six states with zero cases reported: Plateau,
Sokoto, Kano, Oyo Ondo and Kaduna.
