    Nigeria Reports 184 New COVID-19 Infections

    The COVID-19 curve in Nigeria has been rising above and below 200 mark after months of decline, with the number of new cases per day doubling over the past 7 days, driven by the fast-spreading delta variant.

    Nigeria on Thursday reported 184 new cases of COVID-19 with no death linked to the virus in 7 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    The day also saw 31 discharges, as the new case continued to outnumber recoveries. Which include  22 community discharge from FCT managed in line with guidelines.

    The nation’s active caseload is now 3,394 up from 3,240  a days ago.

    Among the new infections, 124 were from Lagos, 27 cases in Rivers and 9 cases in Sokoto.

    FCT had eight cases, Oyo with six, Ekiti had five, Delta with four and Plateau had one case.

    According to today’s report Ondo, Ogun, Nasarawa, Kano and Kaduna among the five states with zero cases reported.

    Since Feb 27 last year, there have been a total of 170,306 positive COVID-19 cases, 2,130 deaths linked to the virus and there are 164,772 resolved cases.
