    COVID-19: Nigeria Sees 11 Deaths, 444 New Infections

    Nigeria on Monday reported 444 new COVID-19 cases and 11 deaths linked to the virus as the tally of positive cases reached 174,759 and the death toll rose to 2,160.

    The day also saw 22 discharges, taking the total number of recoveries in the country so far to 165,037.

    Nigeria's active caseload now stands at 7,552 after 401 more were recorded.

    Nigeria labs processed about 102,411 tests in one week, and have now processed a total of 2,542,261 since the start of the pandemic.

    The top four states which registered maximum cases on Monday are Lagos with 275, Rivers with 63, Akwa Ibom with 62 and Gombe with 22.

    Others with single digit are Ogun had 8 cases, FCT had 4, Edo had 3 Imo had 2, Kano, Nasarawa, Sokoto, Jigawa and Ebonyi reported 1 case each.

    Today’s report includes, deaths in Lagos State reported on 31st July, 2021.

    Ekiti, Oyo, Osun, Ondo, Kaduna and Bauchi among the six states with zero cases.
