The number of people who got discharged after recovered from
the illness increased by 105.
Active caseload in Nigeria increased by 440. Total active
cases in the country now 9,066.
Eleven additional deaths were also recorded in the last 24 hour period.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 176,577
COVID-19 cases in Nigeria, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC's
online dashboard. Of those, 165,323 cases have recovered and 2,178 people have
died due to the novel coronavirus.
The breakdown of the new cases shows that within a 24 hour
period, a major financial centre for all of Africa and the economic hub of
Nigeria, Lagos had 283 new infections, Akwa Ibom recorded 88 and Oyo and Rivers
had 62 new coronavirus infections each.
While FCT, Ogun, Ekiti and Kwara reported 18, 17, 12 and 11 cases
respectively.
Other states with single digit are Plateau-6 Zamfara-3 Kaduna-2
Katsina-2.
Five states with zero cases includes Edo, Nasarawa, Ondo,
Osun and Sokoto.
