The death count rose
to 2,664 as the health officials further reported three virus-related deaths on
Tuesday, while 469 patients recovered from the infection.
The number of daily
cases witnessed a rise and fatalities
declined as compared to Monday, when the country had reported 393 new COVID-19
cases and 6 fatalities
Lagos state, the epicenter
of the country's worst coronavirus outbreak, on Tuesday reported 132 of the new
cases.
Eighty new cases were
identified in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). While Rivers, Kaduna,
Edo and Ondo reported 70, 43, 40 and 32 respectively.
Delta recorded 23 cases
of the virus, Akwa Ibom had 21, Kwara had 16, Gombe had 12 cases.
Nine cases each were detected
in Anambra and Benue, seven in Kano, six in Oyo and three in Borno.
Two cases each were recorded
in Bayelsa, Kastina and Ogun, and Jigawa reported one case.
While Ekiti, Nasarawa,
Osun and Sokoto States reported zero cases.
Today's report
includes, confirmed cases from Kaduna, 29
cases on 20th and 14 cases on 21st of September 2021.
Also, discharged cases from Kaduna, 22 recoveries on 20th and 26 recoveries on 21st of September 2021, NCDC added.
According to the NCDC's
online COVID-19 dashboard, there have been 202,704 cumulative COVID-19 cases in
Nigeria. Of those, 191,370 people have recovered and 2,664 have died due to
COVID-19.
