    Nigeria Reports 299 COVID-19 Cases, 3 Deaths

    Nigeria reported 299 new COVID-19 cases today, down from 519 on Tuesday, according to Wednesday’s coronavirus report by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC.

    The reports also revealed that three more coronavirus-related deaths were reported in the country.

    At least 198 patients with COVID-19 are reported to have recovered after receiving treatment and discharged hospitals across the country.

    There are 8,799 known active cases in the country as at today, up by 98  in the past 24 hours.

    With Wednesday’s report, the tally of COVID-19 infections in Nigeria has reached 200,356. Since the virus was first detected, it has claimed 2,640  lives in country, and more than 188,917 people have recovered in the country after falling ill.

    The report, citing NCDC, the new cases of the novel coronavirus COVID-19 were reported in 15 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    Of the cases reported today, 94 cases were recorded in Lagos, 30 in FCT, 27 in Oyo, 23 in Bayelsa and 20 in Rivers.

    Seventeen cases each were recorded in Edo and Taraba, fifteen in Kwara, fourteen in Benue, eleven in Delta and ten in Osun.

    Ekiti reported nine cases, Gombe and Plateau had four cases each, Kano and Ogun also reported two cases each

    Today’s report includes two states with zero cases reported: Nasarawa and Sokoto, NCDC added.
