    Nigeria Reports 295 New COVID-19 Cases, 6 Additional Deaths

    Nigeria on Tuesday reported another 295 confirmed COVID-19 cases in 19 states and the Federal Capital Territory, as the rate of positive new tests continued to drop and hospitalizations level off.

    As of Tuesday, there have been 205,047 positive COVID-19 cases reported across the nation, according to a report by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC.

    The death toll in Nigeria has risen to 2,695 as six more deaths related to the disease were recorded. Which includes 2 deaths reported from Delta state on September 23rd (1)and 26th (1), the health officials report shows.

    Meanwhile, 193,260 Nigeria residents were reported to have recovered from COVID-19, which is over 94.3 per cent of known cases. Resolved cases increased by 317 from the previous day.

    Active cases in Nigeria now stand at 9,083 — down from the previous day when it was at 9,111

    According to Tuesday’s report, 81 cases were recorded FCT, 43 in Gombe, 32 in Osun and 25 in Kaduna.

    Other states with new cases are Rivers-20, Delta-17, Edo-14, Ogun-11, Oyo-9, Plateau-9, Akwa Ibom-7, Bayelsa-7, Zamfara-6, Kano-4, Ondo-3, Abia-2, Nasarawa-2, Benue-1, Ekiti-1 and Niger-1.

    While Bauchi and Sokoto States reported zero cases.

    The health officials labs has completed 3,043,321 tests between last week Monday till today. The total test conducted as at Monday 20th of September was 2,997,060.

    And a total of 6,040,381 COVID-19 tests have been processed since the start of the pandemic, NCDC COVID-19 dashboard shows.
