    Nigeria Reports 446 New COVID-19 Cases, 3 Deaths

    The coronavirus caseload in the most populous country in Africa rose from 197,773 its was the previous day to 198,239 on Friday.

    Recoveries have also risen markedly to 185,780 with 2,588 Nigerian residents died of COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic, according to Nigeria Centre  for Disease Control (NCDC) tallies.

    The country on Friday logged 466 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) disease in last 24 hours.

    The number of new cases saw a decrease from 727 cases recorded the previous day.

    The health officials also noted that 183 COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospital across the country and three additional coronavirus related deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.

    Currently, active case in the Nigeria stands at 9,871.

    The breakdown released by NCDC via its official Facebook page late Friday as follows,

    Lagos accounted 134 cases out of the total cases that were  reported in 12 state and the Federal Capital Territory, followed by Rivers with 82 cases and Edo reported 69 cases.

    Others include Gombe-39, FCT-32, Kaduna-21, Plateau-20, Benue-19, Kwara-17, Delta-16, Akwa Ibom-10, Bayelsa-5 and Kano-2.

    While Nasarawa and Sokoto States reported no cases on Friday.

    NCDC added that today's report includes 2 deaths and 8 discharged from Lagos on 9th September 2021.
