The data also shows that the number of people
who recovered from the infection increased by 429 on Thursday
With the new cases, the overall infection
tally in the nation climbed to 200,957. Of this, over 189,346 patients have
recovered from the disease. The death toll stands at 2,647, according to the bulletin.
As at Thursday, active cases in the country stand
at 8,964, up by 165 in the past 24 hours.
While the data revealed that the new cases were
reported in 16 state and the Federal Capital Territory.
Lagos reported the highest figure, the most affected
state by COVID-19 in Nigeria added 173 new cases on Thursday.
Ninety-seven new cases were identified in Edo,
sixty-eight in FCT, fifty in Rivers and forty-five in Delta.
Kaduna and Ondo reported twenty-eight cases each,
Akwa-Ibom had twenty-five, Bayelsa and Imo had sixteen cases each and Plateau
reported fifteen cases.
Twelve cases of the virus were found in Anambra, eleven in Ekiti, six cases in Cross River and Oyo, three in Gombe and two cases in Benue.
The reported further highlights that today’s report includes 25 cases reported from
Akwa Ibom State, 13 cases on 15th and
12 cases on 16th September.
28 cases reported from Kaduna State, 21 cases on
15th and 7 cases on 16th of September.
38 recoveries reported from Kaduna State, 21 on
15th and 17 recoveries on 16th September.
