    COVID-19: Nigeria Records No Death, 89 Infections Saturday

    Health officials in Nigeria has announced 89 new COVID-19 cases and no death linked to virus in 8 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    About 118 patients have, however, recovered from the virus and discharged in last 24 hours.

    Nigeria Centre for Control (NCDC) disclosed in its daily COVID-19 bulletin via its official website.

    Active cases in Nigeria now stands at 5,785, dropped from 5,814 it was  the previous day.

    Furthermore, NCDC indicated that it has successfully treated a total of 203,207 COVID-19 cases as of Saturday and the virus has killed 2,895 people and infected 211,887 Nigerian residents since the outbreak began.

    The breakdown of the NCDC data revealed that Bauchi reported 22 cases, the highest number for the day, while Edo and FCT reported 17 cases each and Lagos had 15 cases.

    Ten cases were reported in Plateau, four in Kaduna, two in Taraba, one case each Bayelsa and Delta.

    One state: Sokoto reported no cases of the virus.

    The health officials added that the new infection toll includes backlogs of cases and discharges.

    Today’s reports include two confirmed case reported from Taraba state on October 28th 2021. And Forty-six discharged cases reported from Taraba state on October 28th (28) & 29th (18) 2021.

    Twenty-two confirmed cases reported from Bauchi state on October 29th (1) & 30th (21) 2021. And ten discharged cases reported for Bauchi state on October 29th (5) & 30th (5) 2021.

    One discharged case reported from Lagos state on October 29th 2021.
