Today’s case count is higher
than 89 cases the country had witnessed a day before.
This brings the
cumulative total COVID-19 cases in Nigeria to 209,546 and the number of people
who died as a result of complications related to the effects of the virus
amounts to 2,838 since the start of the outbreak.
In contrast, it has
been reported that 234 recovered patients were discharged from hospitals across
the country, bringing the total number of recoveries from COVID-19 to 197,546
in the West African country.
Today’s discharges includes
130 community discharge reported from Oyo State.
Nigeria Centre for
Disease Control NCDC disclosed via its official website on Tuesday.
The country's active
caseload (9,162) is over 4.4 per cent of the overall cases logged since the start of
the pandemic, the health officials data showed.
The top five states
which registered maximum cases are FCT, Lagos, Imo, Rivers and Cross River
with 71, 20, 17, 15 and 9 respectively.
Other states as follows
Kano-7, Ondo-7, Plateau-4, Ekiti-3, Niger-3, Delta-2, and Bauchi-1.
No cases reported from
Edo, Oyo, Ogun and Osun states in the last 24 hours.
NCDC further reported that
today’s report includes 71 cases reported in FCT on 18th (40) and 19th (31) of
Sep 2021.
And 20 cases reported in Lagos on 18th (8) and 19th (12) of Sep 2021.
