    Nigeria Records No COVID-19 Death, 159 New Cases

    The pandemic caused by the new coronavirus has already spread to 221 countries with over 245,254,057 infected, including 222,324,679 recoveries and a death toll of 4,978,151 deaths.

    In Nigeria, as at Tuesday October 26th, the total number of positive cases recorded stands at 211,330 after the country reported additional  159 cases of COVID-19 in13 states and the Federal Capital Territory, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC coronavirus dashboard.

    The number of additional cases reported Tuesday was far below the 711 cases reported the previous day.

    In the last 24 hours, no deaths were reported, and the number of people who died as a result of complications related to the effects of the virus remains 2,884.

    In contrast, it has been reported that 129 people have recovered in the country. Out of the total COVID-19 cases confirmed so far in Nigeria, 202,803 patients have recovered.

    While 5,643 COVID-19 cases are still active as at Tuesday.

    The breakdown of the new cases revealed that FCT and Lagos state lead the chart with 28 cases each, followed by Nasarawa with 25 cases, while Plateau in third place reported 24 cases and Kwara had 22 cases.

    Other states as follows Delta-8, Kano-8, Rivers-7, Edo-2, Bauchi-2, Bayelsa-2, Kaduna-1, Sokoto-1 and Taraba-1.

    NCDC noted that today’s report includes 8 confirmed cases reported from Delta state for October 25th (5) & 26th (3) 2021.

    Twenty-five confirmed cases reported from Nasarawa state for October 24th 2021.

    And one confirmed cases reported from state for October 24th 2021.
