    Nigeria Reports 1 Death, 159 New COVID-19 Cases

    Nigeria health officials confirmed additional 159 new cases of the novel coronavirus on Saturday in 13 states.

    Today’s report brings the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Nigeria to 210,295, including deaths and recoveries.

    Another 74 people recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours, resulting in 9,248 active cases across the nation.

    Also, the deaths of one more person with the illness were reported on Saturday, according to the health officials bulletin.

    A total of 198,191 coronavirus cases are considered resolved and 2,856 Nigeria residents have died due to the novel coronavirus since last year.

    Most of the new cases were found in Kaduna, Enugu and Benue with 47, 44 and 36 respectively.

    Among today's reported cases, ten individuals were affected by the virus in Delta, seven in Lagos and five in Plateau.

    Meanwhile, three new infections were reported in Rivers, two in Nasarawa and one case each in Bauchi, Bayelsa, Edo, Jigawa and Kano.

    The health officials noted that zero cases were reported in Jigawa State.
