    Nigeria Reports Two Deaths, 166 New COVID-19 Infections

    Nigeria confirmed 166 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, a day after the daily tally fell below 200 mark, as the downtrend in infections continues across the country.

    Nigeria Centre for Disease COVID-19 NCDC’s data revealed that the latest figure of confirmed cases has increased the country’s infection totals to 211,496.

    With 127 patients getting discharged during the day, the number of recovered cases in the country rose to 202,930, the health officials said in a release.

    While 5,680 COVID-19 cases are still active as at Tuesday.

    However, two new deaths were reported among COVID-19 patients in the West African country, according to official figures, the death toll due to coronavirus in Nigeria stands at 2,886.

    The data shows that the additional cases of the novel coronavirus were found in 14 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    The breakdown of the new cases as released by NCDC as follows Delta-36, FCT-22, Rivers-21, Lagos-20, Anambra-18, Ondo-17, Oyo-8, Kebbi-6, Enugu-5, Plateau-5, Ebonyi-3, Kano-2, Bayelsa-1, Ekiti -1 and Jigawa-1

    The health officials stated that today’s report includes 6 confirmed cases reported from Kebbi state on October 26th 2021.

    Five confirmed cases reported from Enugu state on October 26th 2021.

    Twenty  discharged cases reported from Enugu state on October 26th 2021

    Five discharged cases reported from Taraba state on October 26th are community discharges

    Two deaths reported from Lagos state on October 26th (1) & 27th (1) 2021.

    And five states, Bauchi, Gombe, Ogun, Osun and Sokoto recorded no COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours.
