Besides, five more people
succumbed to the infection across the country in the last 24 hours, according
to a report by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC on Tuesday.
There have been 213,321
infections and 2,973 coronavirus-related deaths reported in the country since
the pandemic began.
Meanwhile, Nigeria recovery
rate now stands at 96.55 per cent of the known cases. A total of 436 patients
recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the total recovered cases to 206,206.
The report includes community
discharges of 269 recoveries in FCT on 15th (36) and 16th (233) November 2021.
Active COVID-19 cases
declined by 295 in the last 24 hours and Nigeria’s active caseload stands at 4,142.
The top five states
which have registered the maximum number of COVID-19 cases are Imo with 38, followed by Plateau with 20, Lagos
with 17, FCT with 16, Kwara and Zamfara had 15 cases each.
Other states with single
digits are Ondo-7, Rivers-5, Taraba-4, Oyo-3, Bauchi-2, Edo-1 and Ekiti-1.
NCDC noted that today’s
report includes 4 states with zero cases reported: Katsina, Ogun, Osun, and
Sokoto.
Also, 20 cases
reported in Plateau state on 15th (15) and 16th (5) November 2021.
Seventeen cases
reported in Lagos state on 15th (11) and 16th (6) November 2021.
Sixteen cases reported
in FCT on 15th (3) and 16th (13) November 2021, NCDC said.
