The number of COVID-19 infections in Nigeria reached 212,627 on Saturday as the country logged 116 new cases of the novel coronavirus in six states and the Federal Capital Territory.Nigeria Centre for
Disease Control NCDC revealed in its daily COVID-19 bulletin, as the West
African country is experiencing a decline in its caseload.
In the same period,
the health officials also recorded three new deaths, taking the country's total
number of virus-related fatalities to 2,905.
However, the overall recoveries stand at 204,249 with 64 more patients discharged in the last 24 hours after recovering from the infection.
There are now 5,474
active cases, NCDC data shows, about 23 decrease in the past two day.
Of the new cases, Imo state
took the lead with 53 infections, followed by Plateau with 30 infections, the 30
cases reported in Plateau state are for November 5th which saw 13 cases and 6th
which saw 17 cases.
Abuja, the Federal Capital
Territory reported 10 of the new cases, Kano had 9, Kaduna had 8, Lagos and Rivers
state reported 3 cases each.
NCDC stated that zero
cases were reported from Bayelsa, Delta, Edo and Sokoto states on Saturday.
