    Nigeria: 65 People Test Positive for COVID-19, One Dead Thursday

    Nigeria has recorded one COVID-19 related death on Thursday after three days of no fatality reported since a single death was last reported on November 21, 2021.

    Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Thursday recorded additional 65 COVID-19 infections, with one death reported in the past 24 hours.

    NCDC also disclosed that 78 people were successfully treated, recovered from the disease and discharged on Thursday, this brought the total number of recoveries to 207,094.

    As at today, there are 3,814 active cases in Nigeria — down by 14 cases from the previous day when it was at 3,828.

    With the new update, Nigeria’s tally of confirmed infections since the outbreak of the disease in the country is now 213,883, and COVID-19 fatalities stands at 2975.

    NCDC update revealed that the new cases were recorded in 9 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    Lagos accounts for the highest number of the infections reported with 20 cases, followed by FCT with 12 cases and Kaduna with 11 cases.

    Other states with new infections are Oyo (9), Bauchi (4), Kano (4), Edo (2), Ekiti (1), Plateau (1) and Rivers (1).

    While Delta, Kastina, Ogun, Osun and Sokoto States recorded no cases of the disease in the past 24 hours.

    The health officials noted that today’s report includes one discharged case reported in Lagos state on 24th November 2021.

    Fifty discharged cases in FCT are community discharges on 25th November 2021.
