    Nigeria Records One Death, 209 New COVID-19 Cases

    Nigeria has logged 209 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, in 11 states and the Federal Capital Territory, which mark a slight uptick from 99 cases reported a day ago. 

    Today's case counts makes it the first time in nine days since the nation record above 200 marks.

    One more virus-related deaths were confirmed over the past 24 hours, bringing the overall death toll in Nigeria to 2,900.

    Nigeria's known active COVID-19 caseload is now 5,449, marking a small drops from 5,600 a days ago.

    Meanwhile, 359 Nigeria residents were reported to have recovered from COVID-19 on Wednesday.

    Nigeria has seen 212,359 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic, including 204,010  recoveries and 2,900 deaths linked to the disease, according to the data released by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC via its official website.

    Most of the cases reported by the nation's health officials on Wednesday were found in Gombe with 109 infections, FCT with 21 infections and Rivers with 21 infections.

    Other states with low COVID-19 case counts reported by the nation include Lagos-13, Bauchi-9, Ondo-9, Plateau-9, Enugu-7, Benue-5, Oyo-4, Ekiti-1, and Ogun-1.

    NCDC added that the 109 cases reported from Gombe state includes a backlog from Oct 16th (17), 17th (6), 19th (10), 20th (8), 21st(13), 22nd (19), 24th (8), 25th (5), 26th (3), 28th (13), November 1st (2), and 2nd (4)

    While 0 cases reported from Delta, Edo, Kaduna, and Osun States.
