    Nigeria Reports 61 New COVID-19 Infections

    Nigeria health officials reported 61 new COVID-19 cases with 47 recoveries on Thursday in 9 states and the Federal Capital Territory, according to data shared by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC.

    With the new cases, the coronavirus infection tally in the nation climbed to 213,464. Of this, over 206,292 patients have recovered from the disease and discharged from hospitals across the nation.

    The number of active cases in the nation is 4,199, up from 4,185 a day ago.

    While no patient had succumbed to the viral disease in the past 24 hours. The overall deaths toll in the nation remained 2,973.

    NCDC data shows that Gombe recorded the highest number of infections on Thursday, leading with 16 new cases, followed by Taraba with 15 cases and Zamfara with 14 cases.

    Other states with new infections as follows FCT-7, Kano-2, Lagos-2, Rivers-2, Bauchi-1, Delta-1 and Katsina-1.

    The health officials added that Sokoto States recorded no cases of the virus for the second consecutive days.
