    Nigeria Reports 65 New COVID-19 Cases, 8 Deaths

    Health officials in Nigeria reported 65 new COVID-19 cases and 340 recoveries on Wednesday, as the number of active cases drops to 5,297.

    Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC disclosed this in its daily COVID-19 report late Wednesday.

    The health official also stated that the fatality toll increased by 8 in the past 24 hours.

    It noted that the additional positive samples of coronavirus were recorded in 8 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

    Twenty-two of the new cases were identified in Plateau, twenty-one in FCT and twelve in Rivers state.

    Four individuals were reported to have contracted the virus in Bauchi and two in Lagos, while Bayelsa, Edo, Jigawa and Kaduna reported one case each in the past 24 hours.

    Zero cases were reported from Delta and Sokoto State, NCDC said.

    According to the  nation's online COVID-19 dashboard, there have been 212,894 cumulative COVID-19 cases in Nigeria. Of those, 204,675 people have recovered and 2,922 have died due to COVID-19.

    The health officials added that today’s report includes 10 confirmed cases and 328 discharged cases (including community discharges) are additional cases reported from FCT on November 8th.

    And backlog of 8 deaths reported from Edo state.
