Nigeria reported more than 50 new COVID-19 infections today as daily case count decreased slightly on Wednesday

Health officials logged 82 new cases today in 8 states, significantly down from 144 cases reported on Tuesday.

Today’s report brings the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Nigeria to 213,403, including deaths and recoveries.

There have now been 2,973 coronavirus-related deaths confirmed since March 2020. Of those, no death were confirmed in the past 24 hour, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC disclosed via its official website.

Meanwhile, 39 patients were discharged on Wednesday after recovering from the infection. Out of the known COVID-19 cases so far confirmed in Nigeria, 206,245 patients have recovered.

As of today, Nigeria has 4,185 active cases of COVID-19, up from 4,142 it was the previous day.

According to NCDC, Rivers topped the list on Wednesday, the state reported 52 of the 82 new cases.

Others as follows Kano-9, Kebbi-6, Kaduna-5, Plateau-5, Enugu-3, Bauchi-1 and Lagos-1.

While Sokoto is the only state on Wednesday with no COVID-19 cases reported.
