Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has registered a total number of 65 new novel coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours as case counts continue to declines.The health officials said
in its daily pandemic situation update via its Facebook page that the latest
discoveries had increased the tally of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country
to 212,511.
It added that 137 people
have recovered and were discharged, while no patient was confirmed to have died
of COVID-19 complications on Friday.
The nationwide death toll from the virus remained 2,902 since the start of the pandemic, NCDC added that in total, 204,184 people have been discharged from hospitals after their symptoms improved.
The health officials
said that the new cases were reported in 9 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
According to the
breakdown released by NCDC, Kaduna led with 20 new infections, followed by Gombe,
FCT, Rivers and Bauchi with 10, 9, 9 and 6 cases.
Three of the cases were
reported in Lagos, while Delta, Edo, Kano and Oyo reported two cases each.
Today’s report
includes 0 cases reported from Ekiti, Gombe, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, and Sokoto, NCDC
said late Friday.
