    Nigeria Sees 2 Deaths, 87 New COVID-19 Cases

    Nigeria health officials logged 87 new cases today in 7 states and the Federal Capital Territory. Today's case count is down from 209 cases reported on Thursday.

    With the new cases, the coronavirus infection tally in the country climbed to 212,446, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC revealed in its daily COVID-19 bulletin via its official Facebook page on Friday morning.

    According to the official data, the COVID-19 fatality case counts in Nigeria reached 2,902  as two new deaths were recorded on Thursday.

    Meanwhile, the total number of recovered patients in the country stood at 204,047, including 37 new recoveries reported in past 24 hours, said the NCDC.

    As of today, Nigeria has 5,497 active cases of COVID-19

    Twenty-nine of the new cases were identified in Zamfara, twenty-five in FCT and eleven in Rivers state.

    Kano reported eight of the new cases, Bauchi had five, Gombe had four, Lagos had three and Jigawa reported  two cases.

    NCDC reports further revealed that today’s report includes 0 cases reported from Delta, Edo, Sokoto, and Taraba states.
