    COVID-19: One Dead, 105 Infected in Nigeria

    Nigeria on Tuesday reported one more death from complications related to COVID-19, health officials said

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed this in its latest update on the outbreak of the disease in the country.

    The health officials stated that the new fatality raised the death toll from the disease in the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory to 2,977.

    On same day, the NCDC said 105 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed from 8 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    The data from the NCDC revealed that Nigeria has confirmed a total of 214,218 cases.

    Of the new infections, Lagos reported the highest figure – 43, while the Gombe, FCT and Niger had 21, 16 and 10 more cases respectively.

    Other are Rivers-6, Plateau-5, Edo-2, Bauchi-1 and Kano-1.

    Meanwhile, a total of 207,304 infected people have recovered from the disease, while 3,937 cases are active as Nigeria battles the third wave of the pandemic, NCDC said. 

    NCDC noted that today’s report includes 43 cases reported in Lagos state are for 29th (33) and 30th (10).

    And 16 cases reported in FCT are for 29th (6) and 30th (10).
