    Nigeria Reports 47 New COVID-19 Infections, 45 Recoveries


    Health officials reported an additional 47 new COVID-19 cases in Nigeria on Thursday, in 7 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    According to the nation's epidemiology report, there were 16 cases in Plateau, 8 cases each in FCT and Rivers, 4 cases each in Gombe and Kaduna, 3 cases each in Edo and Kano, and 1 case in Bauchi.

    Sokoto state recorded no cases of COVID-19 on Thursday.

    No fatality has been recorded in the last 24 hours, according to the latest bulletin issued by the Nigeria health officials.

    The nation also recorded 45 recoveries in the last 24 hours, according to Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC data.

    Health officials said there were 3,969 active cases in Nigeria – down from 3,980 it was the previous day.

    Since the start of the pandemic, Nigeria has reported 214,317. Of this, over 207,357 patients have recovered from the disease, while 2,978 people had succumbed to the viral disease, NCDC said.

    NCDC noted that today’s report includes 8 cases and 7 recoveries reported from Rivers state are for 1st (5) and 2nd (3) December.

    And 16 cases reported from Plateau state are for 1st (16) December 2021.
