    COVID-19: One Death, 230 New Infections Recorded Friday

    Nigeria’s novel coronavirus COVID-19 cases have climbed up to 251,930 after Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC announced 236 new infections on Friday. 

    The daily rise in new coronavirus infections has been below 300 for the fifth consecutive days in a row.

    According the report, the death toll in Nigeria remained 3,124  with one more fatality recorded in the past 24 hours.

    NCDC also announced the discharge of 451 more patients from hospitals across the country, resulting in 22,900 active COVID-19 cases across the nation.

    NCDC noted that the report includes 322 discharged cases reported in FCT on 20th (1) & 21st (8) January 2022 and 313 community discharges for 20th (119) & 21st (194) 

    The number of people who have recuperated from the disease moved up to 225,906.

    Data obtained from NCDC official Facebook page shows that the new cases were reported across 10 states  and the Federal Capital Territory.

    Of the new cases,Lagos state report 90 infections. The 90 confirmed cases reported in Lagos are for 20th (46) & 21st (44) January 2022.

    While Gombe recorded 66 cases, FCT, Delta, Kaduna and Osun reported 29, 12, 11 and 10 cases respectively.

    Others states as follows Kano-8, Rivers-7, Ekiti-1, Nasarawa-1 and Oyo-1.

    Four states with zero cases reported: Bauchi, Ogun, Ondo and Sokoto.

    NCDC states that today’s report includes 29 confirmed cases reported in FCT on 20th (15) & 21st (14) January 2022.
