    Nigeria Reports 87 COVID-19 Infections

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC on Thursday reported no death linked to COVID-19 and 87 new coronavirus cases, up from 75  reported on Wednesday.

    The statistics from the NCDC brought the confirmed number of cases in the country to 252,840, with 3,134 COVID-linked deaths since the pandemic started.

    The health authorities said that the additional positive samples of coronavirus were recorded in 9 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

    The breakdown shows that Lagos reported 25 cases, Rivers had 16 and FCT reported  15 cases.

    Delta reported nine of the new cases, Edo had seven Gombe had five, Nasarawa reported four, Bauchi had three, while Kano, Oyo and Borno recorded one case each.

    Meanwhile, on Thursday 267 patients recovered from the novel coronavirus after falling ill, taking the number of total recoveries in the country to 228,404.

    The number of active coronavirus cases in the county  declined from 21,479 on Wednesday to 21,315 on Thursday.
